Lexmark E360 toner cartridges

Lexmark E360 toner cartridges are available in two capacities. The standard cartridge E260A yields 3,500 pages and the high yield cartridge E360H is rated at 9,000 pages. To obtain the lowest cost per print we recommend the high yield E360A cartridge. Both cartridges are Return Program versions as these represent the cheapest option for this printer. The only other consumable required is the Photoconductor and this will require replacement after approx. 30,000 copies. All are listed by Cartridge Concept at discount prices.

Lexmark E360dn Review

Single-function mono laser printers may now be obtained for well under £100, on the other hand if you really want something that is equipped to spit out prints at a fantastic speed and not cost the earth with regards to replacement toner, you must accept a marginally bigger initial outlay.

Lexmark's new E360dn is meant for the small business field and also home users who tend to produce higher-than-average print quantities. At 40.6cm wide, 37cm deep and 26cm tall it's not necessarily the most streamlined machine, on the other hand neither is it excessively cumbersome. Given the significant price it's a little disappointing that there is no wireless connection, however both USB and also Ethernet are offered.

Installation is simple, with the Lexmark software leading you through the operation and the single black toner cartridge slotting comfortably in the front of the chassis. Lexmark has elected to keep controls to a minimum, with merely six buttons occupying the top of the printer. These are accompanied by a compact two-line LCD screen, which benefits from a green backlight.

Paper is loaded into the 250-sheet tray located at the very bottom of the machine. On top of this resides another 50-sheet tray designed for loading a range of diverse paper sizes. As is typical with laser devices in this category, papers are emitted from the top of the machine.

Where the E360dn performs exceptionally well is in the speed department. We were not able to equal Lexmark's quoted speed of 38ppm, though the 33ppm we did arrive at is actually massively notable. These speeds were worked out once the first page arrived in the out-tray, which will require around seven seconds. We've absolutely not issues relating to print quality either, with the E360dn making crystal-clear, razor-sharp, jet-black text.

As signified from the 'd' in the title, E360dn in addition includes a duplex unit, and that means you can save yourself on paper expenses simply by printing on the two sides. It is a wholly automatic duplex unit, this means you won't need to change the paper over by hand as with some other printers, although it does significantly lessen print speeds. In our assessments, speeds dropped to below 10ppm while employing the duplex unit.

An attractive feature in the software is the power to modify the toner darkness with a scale of one to 10. The lower the number, the less toner applied for each print and, for that reason, the cheaper the printer is to run.

The standard toner lasts 3,500 pages. Much better value can be found by picking the high-yield cartridge, which will last a massive 9,000 pages.

Combined with the toner, the photoconductor unit will have to be replaced every 30,000 pages, then again at £35 it's not something that will hurt your wallet and even significant users aren't apt to require to change it more than once each year.

With super-fast print rates of speed, small running costs in addition to a built-in duplex unit, the E360dn from Lexmark is a good quality laser printer for small businesses or people who print considerable amounts. Nonetheless, these features at the same time mean it isn't bargain-priced.
