The latest AcuLaser toner particles contain smaller pieces of wax. This makes the toner particles melt evenly on the paper during the printing process, resulting in a high quality, gloss finish. Epson were one of the early adopters of colour laser toner technology and for years the Epson AcuLaser C900 was the printer to aspire to. C900 toner comes in four individual cartridges, black, cyan, magenta and yellow that rotate around a central Photoconductor unit, laying down one colour of print at a time. This technique is still used in current machines like the AcuLaser C1100 and C1100 toner is also used in multi-function laser printers like the AcuLaser CX11N.
